Sharon Collison is a licensed, registered dietitian, board certified in sports dietetics. Ms. Collison has a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition with a focus in exercise physiology and sports nutrition. She has been in private practice since 2001 with offices in both Newark and Wilmington, DE. She specializes in weight management, eating disorders, sports, wellness and cardiovascular nutrition. Ms. Collison is a specialist in the assessment and treatment of all eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. Sharon works with children (6+), adolescents and adults. She works with both novice and elite athletes. She also teaches nutrition and sports nutrition courses at the University of Delaware.
Ms. Collison is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Delaware Dietetics Association (DDA), Sports Cardiovascular and Wellness Nutritionists (SCAN), and Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association (CPDSA).
She was appointed by the Governor of Delaware to serve on the Board for the Division of Professional Regulation for Nutritionists from October 2004 to 2010. Other accomplishments include completing the Disney Marathon in January 2007 and competing as a finalist in many National cooking contests; Sharon was the Grand Prize Winner of the Southern Living Cookoff in 2005 for her chocolate coffee cheesecake with mocha sauce.
